Bear, the editor, has agreed that it is time to share an important update. First, to those of you who have written asking about him and/or asking how you might help, he says he is very grateful. Second, he has given me permission to share a little more about his situation: soon he will begin a very intensive treatment regimen. After that, he hopes he'll be able to better decide next steps for Verse Daily and in general. We were hoping that he would be able to continue hunting around for poems for the Verse Daily substack while I would keep posting them, but that has not turned out to be doable for him at this time, and currently all my time is being spent caring for him and doing all the things at home and at the charity that he used to do while trying to find resources for additional help of all kinds. I feel terrible about having to let him and his readers down by not being able to do the Verse Daily work for him. I hope the situation will change for the better at some point. Thank you for your understanding; it means a lot to both of us.
